Standard 4 Aspect D

Standard 4d: The program is committed to and invests in strengthening and improving the education profession and the P-20 education system. Each program’s context (or multiple contexts) provides particular opportunities to engage the field’s shared challenges and to foster and support innovation. Engagement with critical issues is essential and must be contextualized. Sharing results of contextualized engagement and innovation supports the field’s collective effort to address education’s most pressing challenges through improvement and innovation.


Use of Existing Data Sources to Support Program Practices:
The Reading/Literacy program has previously captured candidates’ places of employment with the program exit survey candidates must complete before they finish the program. However, this data has not been a point of analysis or discussion with program faculty or used to inform program practices.

The Reading/Literacy program has not used this data to inform program practices. In the future, the program faculty will meet and analyze this data to learn what positions our program candidates have, what grade levels their schools serve, and what districts they are employed in. This information will be used to inform program practices specific to recruitment and fieldwork requirements.
