Why Teach Math or Science?
Hello, Fresno City College Students!

• You can share your passion for learning–and for math/science!
• At the end of the day, you know that you have made a difference by impacting many lives. (YOU can be that special teacher that students remember forever!)
• Through your students, you touch the future.
• Numerous grants/scholarships are available to cover university tuition/fees.
• Districts offer excellent starting salaries: between $40,000 and $47,000/year. (Top salaries are over $80,000 in some Central Valley districts!)
• Signing bonuses are often offered for math/science teaching contracts.
• Job security is excellent, and demand is expected to remain high. (California will need to produce > 16,000 new math and science teachers over the next 5 years.)
• Districts provide outstanding benefits and retirement packages.
• There are many opportunities for further study in your field. • Teachers teach ≈190 days a year. Spend holidays & summer vacation as you wish!
