The Kremen School of Education and Human Development at California State University, Fresno offers a Master of Science degree in Counseling. This degree has been designed to provide students with two specialized options: School Counseling and Student Affairs and College Counseling. These program options give the student the ability to direct their knowledge to a specific area, allowing for better preparation in the field of counseling.
Two Specialized Program Options
School Counseling
Designed for individuals seeking advanced preparation for careers in educational settings (K-12). The School Counseling option is designed to complement the Pupil Personnel Services Credential (PPS) curriculum and is intended to enhance preparation of public and private school counselors.
Student Affairs and College Counseling
This program option is designed to prepare individuals for employment as student service professionals in a four-year university and community college. Graduates with this degree option are prepared for employment in the multi-faceted arena of post-secondary education.

M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling
Clinical rehabilitation and mental health counseling is a profession that holistically applies counseling skills to assist individuals with psychiatric, developmental, cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities to achieve their maximum level of independence, integration, and participation in the community.
M.S. in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling
Student in the Marriage, Family and Child Counseling program are prepared to professionally
serve the mental health needs of the Central Valley. Students are provided a unique
and thorough training experience with both in-classroom and in the field education.
