The Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling Program (CRMHC) at Fresno State offers a 60-unit degree with two professional concentrations: Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) and Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). The program prepares graduates for professional counseling practice through a strong emphasis on theoretical foundation, skill development, supervision, and applied field experience.
Our program is committed to preparing counselors who are reflective, socially responsive, and grounded in ethical practice. Students are trained to work effectively with diverse individuals, families, and communities across mental health, rehabilitation, educational, and community-based settings.

Students complete supervised practicum and internship experiences and are prepared for professional licensure in California and certification.Graduates of the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) concentration are eligible to pursue LPCC licensure (California) and CRC certification. Graduates of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) concentration are eligible to pursue LPCC licensure.

The Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling concentration is accredited by the Council
for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)as a Clinical
Rehabilitation Counseling specialty area, with accreditation currently extending through
October 31, 2027. The program is accredited under CACREP’s 2016 standards and intends
to seek CACREP accreditation for the Clinical Mental Health Counseling concentration.
