The Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling is designed
for students who want to become culturally responsive, ethical counselors who support
individuals in achieving personal goals and improved wellbeing.
Students develop strong counseling skills, learn the importance of advocacy, and are
prepared to work with diverse populations across mental health and rehabilitation
settings. The program offers two concentrations:

Students in the program benefit from a supportive, cohort-based learning environment that emphasizes hands-on training, faculty mentorship, and professional identity development. Faculty are actively engaged in student success and support students in developing advocacy skills for clients, profession and themselves.
Take the Next Step for Your Career
The graduate program is a 60-unit graduate program designed to be completed in approximately six semesters. Students receive extensive hands-on training through supervised practicum and internship experiences.
Professional Pathways
- Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC): Available to graduates of both concentration
- Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC): Available to graduates of the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling concentration
Additional Opportunities
- Pupil Personnel Specialist (PPS)Credential: Required for employment as a counselor in Calfornia Public Schools.
- Certificate of Advanced Study in Research Methods: Preparation in research using quantitative and qualitative methods
