Christopher Lucey is a professor in the Department of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation and teaches within the Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling (MFCC) program.  He is the program's liaison with the State of California, Board of Behavioral Sciences and Fresno State's liaison for the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). Dr. Lucey is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California and licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) inactive in Ohio.

Since 2006, Dr. Lucey has served as the Director of Fresno Family Counseling Center (FFCC).  The FFCC is a California State University, Fresno and Kremen School of Education and Human Development (KSOEHD) sponsored, community-based mental health center with the primary purpose of providing low-cost, high quality counseling services to residents of Fresno County and the surrounding areas while providing students enrolled in the Master of Science in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling Program (MFCC) highly structured, intensely supervised training in mental health counseling.
Dr. Lucey specializes in topics related to mental health crises and suicide and has presented locally, nationally and internationally in areas of crisis intervention and adolescent suicide assessment. He teaches psychopathology, child adolescent therapy, and practicum courses in the MFCC graduate program, in addition to training and supervising graduate students.
