Dr. Yangyang Liu (she/her/hers) is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Counselor Education and Rehabilitation at California State University, Fresno.
Dr. Liu earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California,
San Diego, and both her master’s degree and Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the
Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Liu is a National Certified Counselor and Certified Career Counselor. Her counseling
experiences include working with adolescents, college students, and adults in various
settings, ranging from the university mental health counseling clinic, community behavioral
health clinic, to university career centers. Dr. Liu’s research interests center on
the career development and wellness issues of underserved populations in higher education,
such as international students and students with disabilities.
Dr. Liu is an active member of various professional organizations such as the American
Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision
(ACES), National Career Development Association (NCDA), and Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) Counseling
Academic & Professional Honor Society International.
