Changing The Way We Prepare Teachers

The Kremen School of Education and Human Development is dedicated to improving the quality of teacher preparation and it all starts with the student.

We provide unique experiences for credential candidates to become more closely connected to students and educators in local school districts. Our dedicated district partnerships are essential in producing quality teachers.

Pathway Options

Evening Cohorts

Students enrolled in Fresno State Teaching Credential programs can choose to take their classes in the evening. Fresno State’s Office of Clinical Practice coordinates the placement of teacher candidates at school sites for their fieldwork courses.

Teacher Internship Program

Earn your credential while teaching in your own classroom. The Teacher Internship Program allows "admitted" students who are completing student teaching and are "intern" eligible to work as a contracted teacher under an Internship Credential.

Teacher Residency Programs

(Multple Subject & Education Specialist)

Residencies offer more intensive preservice preparation for teaching candidates. Residents become members of the school community from day one. Students are given access to district resources and are guaranteed employment upon successful program completion.

Christa McAuliffe AwardAward Winning Preparation

The Kremen School of Education and Human Development was awarded the Christa McAuliffe Award in 2014. This award has long honored exemplary teacher education programs at public colleges and universities that belong to the American Association of State Colleges and Universities that can document the success of their graduates improving P-12 pupil learning outcomes. The Kremen School has demonstrated effectiveness in producing P-12 learning outcomes and has also demonstrated the redesign of credential programs as a result of impactful data.
