Single Subject Internship Program


Teacher Internship Pathway

Note:

  • All internships must be approved by BOTH the Office of Clinical Practice and the Single Subject Coordinator.
  • Internship assignments must be in the same subject matter area as their subject matter competency (i.e., if you have a Math degree/CSETs, but no science degree/CSETs you cannot be an intern in a science classroom).
  • Internships at charter schools must be affliated with an approved school district.
  • Once accepted to the Teacher Internship Program, there will be a charge of $1600 per semester in addition to tuition.
  • If the employment site is more than 15 miles from the main university campus there may also be a charge for supervision mileage. These fees help to provide interns with the additional support hours required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
  • Internships beyond a 45-mile radius (or outside our county jurisdiction) from Fresno State University's main campus are not accepted. No exceptions.

Note: All teacher interns must be cleared for EHD 155B by the Office of Clinical Practice.

 Note:
  • Full-time internship = 10 units of EHD 155B in one semester.
  • Part-time internship = 5 units of EHD 155B over two semesters
  • If you need to repeat EHD 155B, it will require approval from both the Single Subject Coordinator and the Office of Clinical Practice.

 

 

Program Completers


If all of the answers to the questions below are "yes," you are ready to apply for your Preliminary Single Subject Credential. 

  • Are you finished with all the Single Subject credential coursework?
  • Have you received an overall GPA of 3.0 and no grade lower than a "C"?
  • Are all of your grades posted to your transcript?
  • Have you met Subject Matter Requirements?
  • Have you passed the FAST (SVP and TSP)?
